• Simple, safe and quietly vacuums in any flying insect that is attracted to the blue light. Catch varies each night, affected by wind, other lights, and that days 'supply' of flying insects. We purchased this after considering the entire range of 'traps' and chose based on its potential effectiveness, size, simplicity and reasonable quality of construction combined with low maintenance. No trap is ideal and likely none are near as effective as we would enjoy, in my opinion this trap will not effectively draw mosquitos from the acre of area the manufacturer claims, but it does pull in hundreds each night seemingly from the modest area immediately surrounding its location. I am seriously considering adding a second unit soon, and will hope after months of continuous operation these will reduce the mosquito population here to a comfortable level. If all neighbors also had traps... life on the deck after sunset could be much more enjoyable!
